2. Who Can Purchase
Minimum Age: 21
ID Requirements: Valid government-issued photo ID
Resident vs. Out-of-State/Visitor: Both residents and visitors aged 21+ may purchase.
Reciprocity: No medical reciprocity for out-of-state patients; must purchase recreational.
3. Purchase & Possession Limits
Flower: 3 oz (85 g)
Concentrate: 24 g (includes oils, vapes, edibles)
Note: You may legally possess up to 5 lbs of cannabis securely in your private home.
4. Where & How to Buy
Dispensaries: Licensed retail dispensaries.
Delivery & Online: Cannabis delivery is legal. Consumers can order online or via phone from licensed retail dispensaries.
Consumption Lounges: Legal. On-site consumption licenses allow venues where cannabis can be purchased and consumed.
Local Opt-Outs: Municipalities had a one-time window to opt out of allowing retail dispensaries and consumption sites, which many did, though possession and delivery remain legal statewide.
5. Taxes & Payment
Excise Tax: 9% state retail excise tax.
Local Tax: 4% local retail excise tax.

6. Consumption Rules

Prohibited Locations: Motor vehicles, restaurants, bars, federal property, state parks, beaches, and within 100 feet of schools.
Vehicles/Open Container: Illegal to consume in a vehicle. Open container laws apply; must be sealed and out of the driver's reach.
Landlord/Employer: Landlords may prohibit smoking, but generally cannot ban non-smoked forms. Employers cannot discriminate against off-duty cannabis use unless it violates federal law or the employee is impaired at work.
7. Home Cultivation
Allowed: Yes (Legalized June 2024 for adult-use)
Plant Count Limits: Up to 3 mature and 3 immature plants per adult.
Household Caps: Maximum 6 mature and 6 immature plants per private residence, regardless of the number of adults. Must be secure and not in temporary accommodations (e.g., hotels).
